1. We stand in crucial days of sin;
Great darkness plagues the hearts of men.
Is there a righteous man to pray
With fervency till break of day?
2. Our land now stands in disarray;
The days are vivid with decay.
Empower us, Lord, to watch and pray
So we’ll not be a castaway.
3. The times demand effectual prayer;
Men’s hearts must fervently declare
The burden of a waking soul,
To plead for God to take control.
4. Oh God, raise up a Daniel’s band
Of men who’ll pray amidst their stand.
Oh, Holy Ghost, empower our cry
As we in war the foe defy.
Refrain:
Lord, make us righteous, holy men of prayer!
Lord, teach us how to pray.
Unless a prayer-life now consumes us,
We’ll perish in these Latter Days.
