Come, Christians, Join to Sing
Words: Christian Henry Bateman
Music: Madrid (Evans) | Traditional Spanish Melody; arranged by David Evans
1. Come, Christians, join to sing
Alleluia! Amen!
Loud praise to Christ our king;
Alleluia! Amen!
Let all, with heart and voice,
Before His throne rejoice;
Praise is His gracious choice.
Alleluia! Amen!

2. Come, lift your hearts on high,
Alleluia! Amen!
Let praises fill the sky;
Alleluia! Amen!
He is our guide and friend;
To us He’ll condescend;
His love shall never end.
Alleluia! Amen!

3. Praise yet our Christ again,
Alleluia! Amen!
Life shall not end the strain;
Alleluia! Amen!
On heaven’s blissful shore,
His goodness we’ll adore,
Singing forevermore,
Alleluia! Amen!
Brethren, We Have Met to Worship
Words: George Atkins
Music: Holy Manna | William Moore, The Columbian Harmony, 1825
1. Brethren, we have met to worship and adore the Lord our God;
Will you pray with all your power, while we try to preach the Word?
All is vain unless the Spirit of the Holy One comes down;
Brethren, pray, and holy manna will be showered all around.

2. Brethren, see poor sinners round you slumbering on the brink of woe;
Death is coming, hell is moving, can you bear to let them go?
See our fathers and our mothers, and our children sinking down;
Brethren, pray and holy manna will be showered all around.

3. Sisters, will you join and help us? Moses’ sister aided him;
Will you help the trembling mourners who are struggling hard with sin?
Tell them all about the Savior, tell them that He will be found;
Sisters, pray, and holy manna will be showered all around.

4. Is there here a trembling jailer, seeking grace, and filled with tears?
Is there here a weeping Mary, pouring forth a flood of tears?
Brethren, join your cries to help them; sisters, let your prayers abound;
Pray, Oh pray that holy manna may be scattered all around.

5. Let us love our God supremely, let us love each other, too;
Let us love and pray for sinners, till our God makes all things new.
Then He’ll call us home to Heaven, at His table we’ll sit down;
Christ will gird Himself and serve us with sweet manna all around.
Rejoice, the Lord Is King
Words: Charles Wesley (1707–1788)
Music: Darwall | John Darwall (1731–1789)
1. Rejoice, the Lord is King: your Lord and King adore!
Rejoice, give thanks and sing, and triumph evermore.

2. Jesus the Savior reigns, the God of truth and love;
When he had purged our stains, He took his seat above.

3. His kingdom cannot fail, He rules o’er earth and heav’n;
The keys of death and hell are to our Jesus giv’n.

4. He sits at God’s right hand till all His foes submit,
And bow to His command, and fall beneath His feet.

5. He all His foes shall quell, shall all our sins destroy,
And every bosom swell with pure seraphic joy;

6. Rejoice in glorious hope! Jesus the Lord shall come,
And take His servants up to their eternal home.

Refrain:
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

Alternate Versions of Final Verse:

6. Rejoice in glorious hope! The Lord and Judge shall come,
And take His servants up to their eternal home.

6. Rejoice in glorious hope! Jesus the Judge shall come,
And take his servants up to their eternal home.

6. Rejoice in glorious hope! Jesus the Judge shall come,
And take His servants up to their eternal home.
We soon shall hear th’archangel’s voice;
The trump of God shall sound, rejoice!
