Internet Radio - Listen to FBC Radio Without a Computer

Internet RadioThe Internet is an ideal medium to bring FBC Radio to people around the world. However, for a large number of potential listeners who are not comfortable using a PC this is an enormous barrier. For another group who often use a PC, it is not necessarily an ideal solution to use a PC when you want to listen to our campus station. The PC is not always where you want it to be (e.g. in your kitchen). To overcome these barriers, we are able to offer an Internet Radio device that has been designed to make FBC Radio accessible for anyone, even for people without a computer or computer illiterates.

Internet RadioAs a stand-alone receiver, the Internet Radio device connects to the Internet for listening to our campus station. Distance no longer plays a role and wherever an internet connection is available you can listen to FBC Radio. Plans are also being made to add the ability to listen to sermons we have made available on our college's web site.

Simple Installation and Operation

What makes the Internet Radio device so ideal is how easy it is to operate. Forget about antennas, distances, noisy and crackling reception. Forget about the computer that you need in order to listen from the Internet. The radio is a small device, the size of Internet Radio Flowchartyour clock radio, that you simply turn on and it automatically connects you to the Internet and uses it like an antenna to tune into FBC Radio and any other audio content we will offer in the future. You may have a relative that would never have a computer but would easily be able to operate this Internet Radio receiver. If they can turn on a traditional radio, then they can use this Internet Radio receiver.

Each Internet Radio is preconfigured for broadband access (via the ethernet port) or it can easily be connected to any wireless network (e.g. using an inexpensive wireless bridge such as a game adapter). For dialup users, there are special, easy-to-follow instructions on how to setup the unit with your local ISP's dialup information (phone number, username, password).
