1. Sin had brought the wage of death upon the human race.
Wickedness within man’s heart did hide us from God’s face.
But from heaven’s golden throne the Lamb for sinners slain
Became the sacrifice to take our blame.
2. Oh the blood, the crimson tide that flows eternally.
It is through this fountain that salvation came to me.
And all men who see themselves in sin’s captivity,
May plunge beneath this fountain full and free.
3. Though my sins are covered now, I daily plead the blood.
How my soul needs washings from this life-renewing flood.
And one day I’ll stand in heav’n to sing before the throne
Redemptions’s song that pleads the blood alone.
Refrain:
Oh the change that came into my life when Christ saved me.
Oh the pow’r of transformation I found at Calvary!
Pardon and peace from guilt and sin through grace were given to me.
Oh, praise the dear name of the Lamb; His blood set me free!
HIS BLOOD SET ME FREE!
